New Season, New Schedule (Starting September 15th)

We're starting the new season two weeks earlier than usual on September 15th. We're down to 4 courts at Sportcentrum Mariahoeve, so we've designed a new experimental schedule to make it work for everyone.

Why earlier? Why only 4 courts?

Sportcentrum Mariahoeve is reclaiming the tennis court next to ours, which limits us to four courts. To adapt, we've thought long and hard and created a new schedule. It's an experiment and subject to change—we'll adjust based on how it runs and on your feedback. Because we're losing courts in mid-September, we're starting the season on September 15th—two weeks earlier than the usual October start.

Weather: we play outdoors 💪

There will be good days and bad days—rainy, windy, even slippery at times. We'll do our best to keep sessions going outdoors. If safety is a concern, we'll communicate changes, but otherwise: we play.

About the colored circles next to your name

You may have noticed colorful circles beside your name in the Spond app—these show your perceived level. It's not permanent; everyone has better and worse days. Levels simply decide which events you can join so games stay fun and competitive.

Read how our levels work (colors & numbers) on the Levels page.

In Drill & Play and Champion of the Court, we'll spot who consistently finishes at the top of their level. If that's you, we'll move you up. You're not locked in.

Please don't sign up for lower-level sessions

Even though you can see lower-level sessions in Spond, please don't sign up for them. If you're in the 3.5+ group, don't sign up for 2.5-3.0 events. You can remove these from your notifications in Spond so you don't get alerts for them.

However, if a few hours before an event starts it's still empty, feel free to join! This helps fill sessions and gives everyone more playing time.

Sundays = Social Play for Everyone

Sundays will always remain Social Play. All levels mix, partners rotate, and there are no fixed formats—just friendly games and a welcoming vibe. Whatever your color circle or number, you're in on Sundays.

Indoor fallback (Sundays)

We're exploring an indoor option at De Blinkerd on Sundays if weather shuts us down. We'll get back to you with details as soon as we have them.

What's changing in the session structure?

We've reorganized the week so more people get meaningful play on fewer courts. Check the Sessions page for the latest structure, times, and sign-up details. Expect:

  • Clear level windows so matches are closer and more fun.
  • Dedicated Drill & Play blocks to build skills.
  • Champion of the Court to surface who's ready to move up.
  • Advanced Drills (4.0+) from 6:30-7:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Advanced Play (4.0+) from 7:30-9:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • And remember: Sundays are for everyone—mix & play!

Tell us what you think

This is a living plan. Please share feedback—what works, what doesn't, and what you'd like to see. We'll keep iterating.

📅 Check out our Sessions page to see the new winter schedule!

See you on court—sun, wind, or drizzle. 🎾💙
